Mini-Moscow .//

Russians have created a miniature model of their beautiful capital, ever since 1986. During an annual workshop, every structure in the model is wiped of dust and workers replace old buildings with the newly built, so the model is always up-to-date.

Liga Contra el Cáncer Installation

The Peruvian League to fight against cancer asked Ogilvy & Mather Lima to create a campaign for their no-smoke day. Using 15,000 cigarettes butts, glued together one by one in an outdoor panel, level to the sidewalk, Ogilvy dramatized the threat that cigarettes represent for a non-smoking person, in this case, a little girl.

A month and half before the campaign, with the help of many volunteers, Ogilvy was able to gather 15,000 cigarettes butts. An artist was in charge of pasting them together and to maintain the essence of the original idea, he painted the little girl in oil paint.

Jennifer Taylor

Jennifer Taylor’s most recent sculptures depict chaotic messes of interlinking pipes, chains, and disposable objects coated in white paint and wax. Cancer cells, labyrinths and internal organs, are just some images that spring to mind when looking at these troubled objects.

Magnetic Art Sculpture .//

ACHIKO KODAMA .// Magnetic Art Sculpture .// currenly on display at the Samuel Freeman
Gallery at the Bergamot Station, in Santa Monica,

In 2000, Sachiko began work on a ferrofluid art project that she named "Protrude, Flow".Ferrofluid is a very interesting material originally developed by NASA it has now found itself been used for a whole range of devices including dampers for controlling and stabilizing large building that move around in the wind. Whats also amazing is that they have such lovely visual qualities when magnetized. The term liquid architecture is used a lot in interactive architecture based on the ideas of how architecture becomes animated by adding the 4th Dimension of Time. Sachiko has taken this idea of liquid architecture more literally with these stunning sculptures made from Ferrofluid which changes its state by the introduction of electro-magnetic waves into the fluid turning it solid. As you stand around and watch this piece, you get literally mesmerized as the ferrofluid (guided by magnets) follows its track and changes its forms.
